Hi and welcome to my site!

I’m Louise Cufley, the owner and photographer behind Plum Tree Newborn Photography. I specialise in photographing newborn babies between the ages of 5 and 14 days old. I love the pure innocence of newborns and photographing their delicate newly formed features is a joy. I have created a little studio in my back garden that is cosy, safe and perfect for capturing all the tiny details that so quickly disappear with each passing day!

Before I set out to be a newborn and child photographer, I was a primary school teacher for almost 25 years. I worked with children, from reception to Year 6 with a whole spectrum of needs, so I’ve gained many transferable skills, that are now helping me with my chosen genre of photography.

As part of my teaching career, I did many first aid courses and have since completed a BAMPS safety course, which is solely aimed at newborn safety. I also spent a hands on week, with an award winning newborn specialist, to learn above all else, about baby safety and the art of newborn photography.

As a newborn photographer, I love meeting and connecting with new families. I aim to make the whole photoshoot an enjoyable and safe experience for both baby and parents. I try to provide a relaxed and happy appointment, where parents can chill or help out as they please. Why not, read a book, catch up on emails, snooze or be hands on? Whichever option you take, you can be sure that your precious newborn is in safe hands and beautiful images are being created and captured.
